Day 1 Delhi
Programme - Arrive Delhi, meeting on arrival and transfer to hotel.
Afternoon combined sightseeing tour.
NEW DELHI designed and built by the British in the 1920's it's a city of
wide boulevards impressive Government buildings, green parks and gardens.
First you will visit two monuments from Delhi's pat Humayun' Tomb and
Qutab Minar. Then your drive takes you along the ceremonial avenue,
Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate and Parliament House.
OLD DELHI an ancient walled city. Here you will see Red Fort, the most
populent Fort and Palace of the Mughul Empire: Rajghat, the memorial site
of Mahatma Gandhi:Jama Maasjid, the largest mosque in India; and Chandni
Chowk, the bustling and colourful market of the old city-overnight at
hotel.
Day 2 Delhi/ Patna/ Rajgir
Programme - Transfer to airport in time to connect your flight for
Patna Meeting on arrival and transfer to Rajgir enroute visit:
NALANDA - Where Lord Buddha preached his suttras at the mango Grove.
Visit the once world famous Nalanda University which flourished from 5th
to 12th century. Also visit the well arrange museum containing Buddhist
and Hindu terracottas, Bronzes and sculputres. After the visit continue
your drive, upon arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 Rajgir/ Bodhgaya
Programme - Morning sightseeing tour of:
RAJGIR - The ancient Rajgir was the capital of the mighty empire of
Magadh. Also visit Sattapani caves, Girdhakuta Hill and 3 kms away the
sulphur springs surrounded by small temples. Afternoon leave for Bodhgaya
by surface, upon arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4 Bodhgaya Programme - Full day sightseeing tour of Bodhgaya &
Gaya.
Day 5 to 7 Programme - MISSING PAPERS
Of the river Hiranyavati. Here it is believed the body of the Lord Budha
was cremantated and the relies were divided. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8 Gorakhpur/ Lumbini/ Gorakhpur
Programme - Full day excursion of:
LUMBINI - This is presently in Nepal. In a small village the queen
Mahamaya gave birth to prince Siddartha. The Bodhisattava appeared from
the right side, took 7 stemps and said " I am foremost of the world. This
is my last. I will cross the Ocean of existence". Over 200 years ago
Emperor Ashoka set up the commemorative piler here. It carries the
inscription. "Here Lord Buddha was born".
Day 9 Gorakhpur/ Sahet Mahet/ Balarampur
Programme - Overnight at hotel leave for Balrampur by surface,
enroute visit: Sahet Mahet- Here Lord Buddha performed his gretes
miracles to confound the sceptical. In a competition before the king
Prasena he sat on the 1000 petalled lotus flower and multiplied himself a
million fold. Fire and water sprung from his body which amazed the
audience. Also visit the chinese and Burmese temples, Ananda Bodhi tree
and Kosambi Kuti. After the visit continue your drive, upon arrive check
in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10 Balrampur/ Lucknow/ Delhi
Programme - Leave for Lucknow by surface and upon arrival proceed on
sightseeing tour:
LUCKNOW - according to Hindu legend Lakhimpur, the original name of
Lucknow, was founded by Lakshmana, Rama's brother. Yet with the passage
of time and influence of the muslim rulers the city presents a pre
dominant muslim culture. An important landmark of the city is the
constant Palace foremerly the residence of the major general claude
martin and how housing the La Martiniere School. Transfer to airport in
time to connect your flight for Delhi. Meeting on arrival and transfer to
hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 11 Delhi/ Agra/ Delhi
Programme - Full day excursion to:
AGRA City, Is the medieval city of the famous 17th Century masterpiece
Taj Mahal, which of course is the most splendid of all buildings-perhaps
the most perfect architectural monument in the world. It was built in
memory of the beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, of one of the great Kings Shah
Jehan of the Mughal empire. Agra is not only famous for Taj Mahal but
also for the impressive Mughal red fort known as the Agra fort. The tour
also includes a visit to the local bazar. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12 Delhi
Programme - Transfer to airport in time to connect your on ward
flight.
